Cooking Class.

I took an Indian cooking class a few weeks ago. It was interesting. A bit challenging on a half, English, half Hindi level. So, sometimes I wasn’t sure what was going on and when I should be listening. Their was a lot of interweaving the language in to each other in sentances... plus combining the accent, it was a game of de-coding.

It was held in the teachers house. A GORGIOUS house, the parts I saw anyway… We sat in the dining room facing her kitchen. She had a counter where she could face towards us with a 1 burner movable stove on the counter as she demonstrated.

We were given copies of the recipes which was vey good. I think this was the first time she taught this group of recipes since she missed a few steps… so trying to catch what I needed to add was a bit interesting. Never the less, the food was WONDERFUL! And I gained good information out of it like the English translation for a few Hindi words and spices. Managed to convince Joel we should get a pressure cooker… which we did this weekend and have used it once with success. I hope I can catch another class before I leave.
