A while ago I got mypackage from Jaipur with the silk shirts and sandles I had made there
Here is the package. Scope the address and name there.
This is wrapped in a, probalby home made or extra fabric that wraps the box.
Then you see the fabric is glued and sealed with Wax. IT looked like hershey's chocolate when I first picked it up. It was kinda weird.
Since they addressed the package wrong. both building and apartment. when they called from the gate for me to pick it up they were NOT going to give it to me since I was NOT in 601. They KNEW I was in 602 so this could NOT be my package. They didn't care that the company that mailed it called me to tell me it was here and that is how I knew to come get it.
I find this interesting in the fact that, this is a very exact culture in ways... Hence, I wasn't in 601 so this couldn't be my package. Yet, this is a place with few street signs and directions are given by how many round-abouts you pass. SO COMPLEX!
After a few phone calls and the involvment of 5 security guards I was reluctantly given my package.
This all happened at the front gate to the complex itself.
So, I walk back to my building and as I walk in, one of the guards who was in our building looked at me and package and said, that is not your package mam, that is for 601. I tried to explain that it was just a mix up on the addresser's end.
Hey, at least we have good security knowing who is where... :)
So, when I peeled off the first layer, here is the second. An old fan box.
It was a bit dusty. And as you can see well tied together.
Inside the contents were wrapped in news paper.
There the 3 shirts, that sadly didn't fit. And I mean REALLY did NOT fit. I have had a tailor re-work them to the max size and we are getting CLOSER!! But not quire wearable yet.
Frustrating. YES, they DID take my measurements. Not sure they used them when putting the tops together.
I'll get better pics of the tops and one of the sandals.
So, I need to go back to Jaipur and kick some pink city butt I guess. :)
ARG.
